First time I have ever noticed this weird behavior. Upon seeing you, some monsters begin to backpedal! To test it, just start a game of doom 2 and run into the line of sight of the two zombies on the steps. When they see you, they will take a few steps backwards before they begin to fire!

Made it optional.
